Black Hills Area Chapter of the American Red Cross : Rapid City, SD

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

When our communities here in Western South Dakota are faced with emergencies or disasters, people turn to the American Red Cross for support – both emotional and financial. Because of donors and volunteers, we are able to provide food, clothing, shelter and mental health services to clients and help them get through the emergency.

In addition, with our Armed Forces Emergency Services program, we are able to connect military families when it counts the most.

Through our Health and Safety programs, we have trained thousands of community members in life-saving skills, such as CPR, First Aid, Nurse Assistant, Lifeguard and Babysitting training, and emergency and disaster response training.

Your support, both as volunteers and donors, is essential for us to continue to execute out vital mission in South Dakota.

The Black Hills Chapter of the American Red Cross is always seeking qualified board members to serve either as directors of the board or on chapter committees. The board committees include: governance and nominating, finance, audit and financial development.

DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS AND SERVICES POSITION

The The Black Hills Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking a Director of Programs and Services. Position is responsible for administration and oversight of all community disaster preparedness programs, directly manages and coordinates all disaster response activities, and Health and Safety programs. This is a dynamic position working in partnership with volunteers and community leaders.
