Volunteers serve at all levels of the organization, from disaster relief, providing health and safety instruction to coordinating casework, performing clerical tasks and assisting with fundraising events. The Black Hills Area Chapter delivers services in our communities through the support of people just like you giving generously of their time and talents. You may never work harder or get dirtier…but it will be the best job you never got paid to do.

Office Support
Office support volunteers are needed to assist with program development and maintenance, staff support, customer services, and a variety of other exciting assignments. Office support positions are a great way to gain marketable career skills while being the "glue" that holds our internal systems together.

Disaster Services
Disaster volunteers are needed to tend to local and national disasters and provide assistance, such as food and shelter, to those affected. Volunteers should enjoy working with and helping people in crisis situations from varied economic and ethnic backgrounds.

Fundraising Events
Event volunteers are needed to provide assistance during special events.

Journalist / Photographer
We are looking for persons to capture photos and stories during disasters and special events.  These will be displayed on our website and newsletter.

Instructor
Volunteers are needed to become certified as an instructor to teach life-saving and emergency response skills to individuals in a community setting.
